Municipal Invasive Species Training

Workers at all levels within a municipality will learn about how they can play a role in stopping the spread of invasives and what they can do to manage them. Building on trainings from 2017, guest speaker topics in 2018 will include recent CISMA activities, invasive species reporting, Michigan Watch List invasive species from Gregory Norwood, Invasive Species Coordinator, DNR Wildlife Division, and concurrent afternoon breakout sessions will cover in-field experiences with treatment and management of invasive species from Drew Rayner, Coordinator, West Michigan CISMA, and recent developments with municipal management of Japanese knotweed from Hannah Hudson, Knotweed Specialist, KnowKnotweed.org. Lunch will beprovided to all registered participants. MDARD Pesticide Applicator Recertification Credits will be offered - 4 credits for Category 6 or Common CORE.
