LGROW and partners, including Trout Unlimited, WMEAC, the City of Grand Rapids and more have been working on a Great Lakes Restoration Initiative grant in the Rogue River, Lamberton Creek, and Plaster Creek watersheds. Through this grant, we have worked with three schools, over 200 students, marking storm drains, conducting rain barrel workshops, and planting native gardens. These efforts will help to make people aware of water quality concerns and the practices will store, slow, and filter the water running off of lawns and streets, into our waterways. To learn more about this grant visit www.lgrow.org/glri
There will be approximately 80 rain barrels constructed and given away this year to residents of the Rogue River, Plaster Creek, and Lamberton Creek watersheds through this project.
If you are interested in attending the next rain barrel workshop in the Rogue River watershed, please RSVP because space and materials are limited!
Keep an eye out for more rain barrel workshops coming to YOUR watershed!
