Crockery Creek Watershed group promotes conservation programming for schools, new volunteer opportunities for spring

Chester Township, Mich., Nov. 13, 2020 – Members of the community are invited to attend the next Crockery Creek Watershed Advisory board meeting to learn more about how to bring conservation programming to local schools, and to help plan volunteer events for the spring.

Eileen Boekestein from the Lower Grand River Organizations of Watersheds will be talking about a tree planting program for local schools with a grant from the USDA Forest Service and the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative. Local teachers can use this opportunity to connect with conservation groups and learn about new programs to bring to local students.

The group will also discuss doing a highway clean up and potential partners for spring activities. Residents living in the watershed, elected or appointed officials, farmers and local business owners are encouraged to volunteer.

The meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 8th at 7pm, online via Zoom. For more information visit www.facebook.com/CrockeryCreek.
