Native plants can provide numerous benefits to local insects, pollinators, birds, and other animals. Native forbs and grasses provide essential sources of nectar and pollen for insects, bees, and butterflies. Birds benefit from insect activity in the summer months and rely on the rich seeds through the fall and winter.
This year the Institute is providing a suite of Michigan native wildflowers and grasses that will perform well in full sun, full shade, and moist to dry environments.
