Federal partners seek public input on draft GLRI Action Plan III
The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and its federal partners are seeking public input on the draft Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI) Action Plan III. The plan will set 2020-2024 GLRI priorities and goals. Input will be accepted until May 24, 2019. Questions can be submitted to Mike Russ at the EPA.

State of Michigan agencies including the Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) collaborate with the U.S. EPA and local community partners to protect and restore Great Lakes waters. GLRI funding supports efforts that include revitalizing communities affected by environmental impacts, harmonizing the work of regional organizations, and achieving long-term management goals:
Fish are safe to eat
Water is safe for recreation
Safe sources of drinking water provided
All Areas of Concern are delisted
Harmful/nuisance algal blooms are eliminated
No new self-sustaining invasive species
Existing invasive species are controlled
Native habitat is protected and restored to sustain native species
