Ottawa Conservation District Receives $1 Million to Support Water Quality Monitoring Initiatives!
The Ottawa Conservation District (OCD) announced that the Ottawa County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a nearly $1 million contract for OCD to conduct a new Water Quality Monitoring Initiative through the Ottawa County Water Resources Commissioner’s office. These funds will support water quality sampling, habitat surveys, and land surveys within Ottawa County watersheds. This Initiative will help focus conservation efforts and provide insight into water quality impairments throughout the county. OCD was also awarded several other grants to support their work in invasive species control alongside the West Michigan Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (WMCISMA).
